Mom, who is always there.

Do you remember how in childhood you played in the yard in the sandbox? Chased the ball with the neighbor kids, built sandcastles, played hide and seek? Remember that feeling - warm, sunny, the day seems endless, everything around is interesting, joy fills to the brim and at any moment you can turn around and see mom. There she is sitting on the bench just a few steps away. It takes a moment to make sure that mom is still there and you can play again. And now imagine the feeling that you turned around, and mom is not on the bench. The world immediately turns upside down, becomes unstable and anxious. These two feelings accompany us throughout life, alternating with each other, and that's in the best case scenario. In the worst case, we toss around our inner space in search of the bench with mom - we change jobs, take out a second mortgage, expand our business, and the feeling of a warm, sunny, safe day never comes.

Today, during a session with a client, I keenly felt that both I and every person around me need such an internal bench where mom is sitting... A real mom or a collective image made up of people, personal achievements, and discoveries, which gives the feeling that everything will be okay. Always. So that waking up in your adult life in an adult bed, you could close your eyes for a moment and feel calm and confident. If you manage to "grow" such an internal mom, she will always be there. In her bag, there is a bottle of lemonade and apples, she reads a book and smiles at me when our eyes meet. I know that at any moment I can run up and bury my face in her lap, take a sip of lemonade, feel a kiss on my forehead, and then run off to conquer the world. And everything will be okay. Always.
